Officials from the Indonesian Ministry Of National Education visit UCP Marjon

The University College has hosted a two day visit of officials from the Indonesian Ministry of National Education as part of a major project which aims to introduce a comprehensive professional development performance management system for their 2.7 million teachers within the national primary and secondary school education system.
Mrs Dian Wahyuni - Head Basic Education Professional Development and Mr. Putra Asga Alevri, Officer both visited UCP Marjon on 28th and 29th July.
The ministry requested a visit to UCP Marjon because of the Institution’s reputation in providing successful continuing professional development (CPD) programmes for teachers and recognised and extensive experience in:
- Performance appraisal for teachers
- Developing national standards and career frameworks
- Developing needs-based CPD systems
- Provision of staff development and quality assurance.
Principal Prof Margaret Noble said:
“We were very pleased to welcome guests from the Indonesian Ministry of National Education. UCP Marjon has an outstanding reputation for teacher training and professional development. We currently offer one of the largest CPD programmes for teachers in England and internationally we have been working in partnership with the government, including the Malaysian Ministry of Education, for many years. We welcome the opportunity to share our experience with the Indonesian Ministry of National Education and to work in partnership to support their ambition to enhance the quality of their teaching profession”.
