Professor Margaret Noble: Principal and Chief Executive of UCP Marjon
Margaret Noble gained a BA(Hons) degree in Geography and History from the University of Wales and then went on to complete a PhD in Geography at the University of Hull. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
She joined the University College Plymouth St Mark & St John as Principal in September 2009 and has previously worked at the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside as Head of Humanities and Head of Educational Development; at the University of Teesside as Director of Lifelong Learning and at the University of Greenwich as Director of External and Combined Studies and as Pro Vice Chancellor with responsibility for academic development and collaborative UK and international activity. Her research interests include widening participation; work-based learning and partnership and collaboration.

Dr Geoff Stoakes: Vice Principal (Academic) and Deputy CEO
Geoff is a historian who has published on Nazi Germany, the subject of his doctoral studies, and the United States in the 20th century. Before coming to the University College in 1998, he was Head of American Studies and later Dean of Arts and Humanities at York St John University and on the Executive Committee of the British Association for American Studies. He joined the University College as Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities; he was appointed Assistant Principal in 1999 and Vice Principal (Academic) in 2009. His responsibilities include the oversight of the academic curriculum and research. His outside interests include tennis, film and supporting Manchester United.

Ms Karen Cook: Vice Principal (Resources)
Karen graduated with a degree in Business from the University of Plymouth in 1985 and then trained in accountancy whilst undertaking a variety of management accounting roles in the private sector. In 1993 she entered the education sector as Director of Finance and Administration at Plymouth College of Art and in 2000 moved to Somerset College as Vice Principal Finance and Resources. During her time in the FE sector Karen was Vice Chair of the National Colleges Finance Directors Group and sat on various government working groups advising on policy matters in post-16 education. Cementing her interest in the education sector she undertook an MBA (Education) and since joining the University College in 2007 has commenced study for a doctorate in education.
As Vice Principal (Resources) Karen is responsible for the strategic management of the University College's major resources functions including Finance, Information and Planning, Estates and Facilities, Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Information Technology and Learning resources and Registry and Student Administration. Karen chairs the Resources committee, co-ordinating the delivery of the University Colleges strategic objectives in these areas.

Dr Ian Luke: Dean of the Faculty of Education, Health and Welfare
After gaining his first class (Hons) degree, and his Post Graduate Certificate of Education from Loughborough University, he gained a scholarship from the same Institution to complete his doctoral studies. The focus of his research was the development of pupils’ metacognitive ability in secondary school physical education. Ian has presented his work regionally, nationally and internationally with current research interests including the learning processes, assessment, and coach education. Ian taught both in the UK and in Australia before entering Higher Education; he worked at the University of Bath before moving to the University College Plymouth St Mark & St John. Ian is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Health and Welfare, at the Institution. Ian has a strong sporting background having represented Great Britain in Sports Acrobatics at senior level for several years, winning both World and European medals.

Dr Sam Peach: Dean of the Faculty of Sport, Media and Creative Arts
Sam Peach gained a first class BA(Ed) degree with Qualified Teacher status form the University of Exeter in Secondary Physical Education and Mathematics. After having taught at Priory Secondary School in Exeter, Sam went on to gain an MPhil in sport psychology and joined UCP Marjon as a lecturer in Physical Education and Sports Science.
She has worked her way up through the institution and now holds the position of Dean of the Faculty of Sport, Media and Creative Arts at UCP Marjon. As Dean, Sam is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the Faculty. She completed her EdD at the University of Exeter in which her doctoral thesis and subsequent research interests have focused on the Higher Education Curriculum.
Sam has a strong sporting background as both a player and coach. She represented Great Britain in the World Student Games in 1991 for tennis and has played and coached hockey at county, regional and national level.

Mr Todd Pressman: Head of Marketing, Communications and Planning
Todd Pressman received a BSc in Business from Rutgers University (NJ, USA), with a major in marketing and minor in economics. In 2006 Todd completed the CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma. Todd has held marketing posts both in the US and England including working as a marketing manager for the Kingston YMCA and a conference services manager for Lowes Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, CA. Todd has spent the past 10 years working in the UK Higher Education Sector, first with the University of Exeter’s School of Education and then joining UCP Marjon in December 2006 to head up the University College’s Marketing and Communications Department.
Since joining UCP Marjon, Todd has also taken a role in planning and is now the Head of Marketing, Communication and Planning and as such has overall responsibility for evaluating the Institution’s competitive position, providing guidance for Institutional planning, and developing a marketing plan to meet the Institution’s strategic objectives.

David Brown is Head of Financial Planning & Estates Resources. He is responsible for financial planning and management accounting whilst providing line management for estates maintenance which includes work planning and funding.
