Our Decision

Offers
The offer you receive from the University College may be either unconditional or conditional and will tell you the year and the month that the course starts

  • Unconditional (U)  - This means that you have met all the entrance requirements and we have accepted you for a place on your chosen course. The offer may specify requirements such as financial or medical conditions that you must satisfy before you join the course. We will contact you if we need further proof of your qualifications
  • Conditional (C) - This means that we have made you an offer that depends on certain conditionswhich are usually that you must achieve certain grades or qualifications.  You may be asked to achieve specific grades, possibly in named subjects ie C in PE, a certain number of points which you can work out using the UCAS tariff or a particular classification of degree.

Replying to Offers
UCAS will send you notification when all institution decisions have been made.  You must then reply to UCAS for each offer in one of the following ways:

  • Firm Acceptance (F) - This is your first choice and you are making a committment to attend here.
  • Insurance Choice (I) - This is your back-up choice
  • Decline (D) - You do not want this choice

You will not be able to reply to your choices until all of your offers have been made.

Confirming your Place
When your results come through, if you have the right grades and you meet all the other conditions of the offer, we will confirm your place to UCAS who will then send you an official confirmation letter.
