Campus accommodation
There are over 500 study bedrooms on campus in Halls of Residence and in Student Village Houses.
The bedrooms in the Halls of Residence are intended for students who are looking for catered accommodation. This means that you would buy a Dining-In-Scheme card at the beginning of your studies, so that your food is paid for in advance. You would then eat your main meals in one of the restaurants on campus.
The Student Village Houses are best suited to students looking for self-catering accommodation. This gives you the ultimate flexibility of being able to prepare your own food, while also having the opportunity to use the restaurants on campus.
Homestay accommodation
This consists of a single study bedroom in a private home. All our homestay providers live within easy commuting distance of UCP Marjon. You will need to allow up to £20 per week for public transport costs.
The major advantage of living in Homestay accommodation is the opportunity to practise your English and the experience of living in a British home.
Private off-campus accommodation
We can provide advice on finding suitable accommodation in self-catering flats or houses in Plymouth if you wish to live away from the campus or bring family members to the UK. Usually, private accommodation can only be arranged after you have arrived in Plymouth. This is because you will be required to sign a contract with a private landlord in person. Temporary accommodation can be arranged for you upon your arrival in a hotel or, if it is available, on campus for one or two nights. This will give you time to look for a flat or a house in Plymouth.
Estimated cost of living
In addition to your tuition fee and accommodation costs, we can only give you a rough estimate of the amount of money that you will need for your full-time studies at UCP Marjon.
For the latest available information about student living expenses in the UK , Education UK has a lot of useful information about living in the UK, including this useful section on Living Costs
Any list of living expenses will be for guidance only and would vary according to the choices that you make, for example, whether you decide to stay on campus or off campus.
