Using the Password Reset Manager to change your password via the Internet 24/7

The password we all use to access email, College PC's and the WiFi system is set to expire every 120 days to ensure network security is maintained alongside flexibility. If you log onto a PC physically connected to the College network you will see a countdown from 14 days to the day the password expires, but you will not see this countdown if you are logging onto email from outside the College or via WiFi.

To assist students and staff in maintaining secure passwords the College have set up an online Password Reset Manager system, of a similar Q&A type many banks and internet service providers use for forgotten/expired passwords. Password Reset Username

Horror, your exam results are being emailed out but you cannot login to your email and you are on holiday, teaching practice or similar so are unable to come into Uni to change your password!!

We have the answer for you, the Marjon Password Reset Manager (PRM) allows you to change your password when you like, great! However, as with all great systems you must set up a profile PRIOR to using the Marjon Password Reset Manager (PRM). This has to be completed whilst your password is VALID! 

Once your profile is set up you will be able to change your password at anytime from anywhere with Internet access.

Make sure you click the 'Ignore' Option button to proceed.

  1. Go to the email Home page located Marjon Email
  2. Once the page loads read the information on the PRM system and click on the Password reset link.
  3. Now enter your username (student number) and click OK.
  4. Click the “My Questions and Answers Profile” link.
  5. Put in your VALID password and click Next.
  6. You will now be able to set up the 4 questions and answers which will be used if you want to reset your password via the Internet. The answers are CaSe SeNsEtIvE and so you will need to remember them carefully.
So what do you do if you have forgotten you password?
  1. Follow steps 1-3 above to access Password Reset Manager.
  2. Click on the “Forgot My Password” link.
  3. Now correctly answer the questions you previously set up (CaSe SeNsEtIvE remember), click Next.
  4. Enter a new password of at least 8 (eight) characters (can be numbers, letters or both but NOT one you have had in the last 4), then re-type it in the "Confirm new password" box.
  5. Click Finish!
