Halls of Residence

Students in catered Halls of Residence will be allocated a single, shared or en-suite study bedroom.  Each bedroom consists of:

  • a single bed
  • mattress
  • mattress cover
  • bedside cabinet
  • wardrobe
  • desk
  • desk chair
  • waste bin

Some bedrooms also have a chest of drawers and an easy chair.  Bedrooms are carpeted and have either a blind or curtains.  All bedrooms have central heating and bedrooms that are not en-suite have a wash hand basin.

Each student will have access to toilet and shower facilities, kitchen facilities and a communal room shared between 5 to 9 students.  Due to the nature of the shared facilities each flat is single sex, however, en-suite accommodation will be mixed.

Each hall is three storey and there are no lifts.

COSTS:

Standard single room in Halls of Residence will cost £85 or £90 per week

Twin room on a single occupancy in Halls of Residence will cost £95 per week

Twin room shared in Halls of Residence will cost £60 per person per week

En-suite single in Halls of Residence will cost £105 per week

all include heating, lighting, WiFi internet access with computer support and personal contents insurance cover.

Your Licence to Occupy is for 41 weeks irrespective of your course commitments.

The Dining-In-Scheme costs £750, all students allocated in Halls of Residence must participate in this scheme.

Kitchens in Halls of Residence are supplied with a kettle, ironing board, fridge, freezer and cooker.  Some Halls also have a toaster and microwave.

In order to secure your room you will need to sign your Licence Agreement, sign your residence fees payment agreement and return these with your £250 deposit to the Accommodation Office prior to your arrival.  Licence Agreements are fixed for the academic year including the Christmas and Easter vacations.  You are unable to terminate your Licence Agreement unless you are withdrawing or interrupting your course.  No refunds of residence fees will be made in respect of placement.
