BA (Hons) Community Practice – 1st Year
Siblings Brendan and Clare both spent time travelling and teaching in Asia before deciding to study the same course at UCP Marjon. Both wanted to return to the South West (to be near their home town of Liskeard) and were recommended by friends and family to apply to UCP Marjon.
“The lecturers here are brilliant. Support is excellent and you can get help if you need it. I hope to go back into teaching and education but not necessarily in the classroom. I would definitely recommend UCP Marjon 0 it is fun, easy going and I enjoy the diverse debates!”

BA (Hons) English Literature and Drama
– 2nd Year
“Before coming to UCP Marjon I ran my own business with my husband. Although this was interesting, I found that I had a small pocket of time to fill, so I decided to take up writing. I also turned 50 last year and wanted to do something positive and take a change in direction, so I decided to study for a degree. I chose UCP Marjon, as I knew that it was friendly and popular. The thing I enjoy most about my course is that every module brings a really enjoyable experience. It takes me out of my omfort zone which is really beneficial. Also, I love the fact that I am mixing with a younger generation, they are really nice and welcoming and I feel on an equal footing which is great. When I have graduated, I would like to continue with my writing and hope to do a Masters in Creative Writing or I could do my PGCE and become a teacher. The possibilities are endless!”

FdA Sports Development and Coaching
– 1st Year
“I studied for a Level 2 BTEC outdoor education, a Level 3 in Sports Development and Fitness and also worked in a primary school as a teaching assistant (for my gap year). I chose UCP Marjon as it was close to home, all the facilities are on campus, and I enjoyed the open day. The things I really enjoy about the course include freedom, the ability to complete work experience during the week and working in small groups.
The lecturers are friendly, funny and always happy to help. The sports facilities are currently being developed and I am looking forward to using the new centre.
