The most important rule is to enjoy the day, compete hard, and be certain not to put other competitors, yourself or other people at risk.
This event is point based, the breaking of any rules or exceeding the route time limits (8 hours long route, 5 hours short route) result in point deductions. The Race Director applies point deductions.
Winners for each entry category are determined by the number of points achieved during the allotted time. You (your team) will receive a map and route on the day. You (your team) collect points for completing each of the activities as well as cycling the entire route. If you wish, you can bypass any of the activities or cut off part of the cycle route, and forgo the points for anything you miss.
- Don't cheat. Cheats will have points deducted
- You can only use the specified modes of transport
- You must stick together, within 100m, as a team
- You must pass random check of your kit on the course
- You must reach the prescribed checkpoints to receive points (on the event day)
Sometimes events of this nature can get quite complicated and various instructions appear. Follow the instructions and those of event staff and race marshals and you’ll have a great day!
