Project Description
A tool to upload and embed video into Flash and provide a means to annotate this video at points determined by the user. The annotated video should then be able to be played back with or without accompanying annotations. It should also be possible for multiple people to annotate a single video and for the viewer to select which annotations they see during playback.
In SLT (Speech & Language Therapy) dynamic resources used at present include simulations using actor-facilitators. Due to cost, these are restricted to an annual skills-practice day, despite students considering the learning gained to be invaluable as preparation for practice. Students report that using techniques such as ?stop-start? and ?discuss/make changes?, which are integral to this learning medium, are extremely helpful in focusing on effective behavioural change and developing as a reflective practitioner.
The project aims to develop a tool for organising, playing and annotating video that both staff and students will be able to use.
Current Status
Work on a flash graffiti-board is well underway, which saves data to xml. The next stage is to incorporate a video player into this, and work on saving the resulting xml data to a Drupal database.
