Stan Cinnamond - Director of Sport
Stan has been Director of Sport at UCP Marjon since November 2007. He is responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of UCP Marjon Sport, which includes the areas of sports facilities, non academic sports programmes, student sport, events and special projects. He is also Chairman of the Marjon Sports Federation and a member of several local sports committees.Stan has over 20 years of experience in the Higher Education sector having worked at Lancaster University as Director of Sport between 1990 – 2000 and Assistant Director of the Institute of Human Performance, University of Hong Kong between 2000-2007. His interests include rugby union, at which he is a qualified coach, walking and cycling.
Simon White - Sports Centre Manager
Simon has tried his hands working in a number of different industries including shop, hotel and estate agency until he settled down in the leisure industry in 2004. Simon joined UCP Marjon Sport as a duty manager in 2007, and has since been promoted to Sports Centre Manager. Simon will heading up the team in the sports centre and ensuring that UCP Marjon Sport is always delivering a fantastic service. Simon is a home grown Plymothian and in his spare time he can normally be found putting in the miles cycling on the roads across the moors, working up a sweat in the gym or just relaxing with family and friends.
Anna Hughes - Sports Progammes Manager
Anna has been working as a manager in sport and Leisure since 2004. Anna graduated in 2002 from UCP Marjon and returned in 2007 as a Sports Centre Duty Manager. From 2010 Anna became Sport Programmes Manager and is responsible for the adult and child recreational programmes available in the sport centre for staff, students and the wider community. Anna also has responsibility for the UCP Marjon training course programme, which offers various coaching and umpiring awards, and leisure training qualifications such as First Aid and Pool lifeguarding qualifications. As well as working in the Sports Centre Anna is currently undertaking a MA in Applied Sports Development. Anna Plays for Plymouth Marjon Netball Club, and enjoys keeping active.
Terry Dungay - Team Leader
Terry has been working in Sport and Leisure for over 15 years in both the private and public sector. He has trained and assessed hundreds of pool lifeguards through the RLSS NPLQ system and has given practical lectures to Marjons students in Lifesaving, First Aid and Open Water Swimming. In addition to being a Pool Lifeguard T/A he is also at instructor in First Aid, Gym and Fitness, Surf Lifesaving and Karate. During the summer months you may aslo find him on your local beach as he works part time as a Senior Beach Lifeguard for the RNLI. In 2009 he competed in the British and European Inshore Rescue Boat (IRB) championships, helping Cornwall win the European Open and is preparing to Race in the British and European and World Championships in 2010.
Victoria Bowden - Team Leader
Victoria has worked within the leisure industry for the past 22 years, building a wealth of experience in a number of different roles. She is qualified to tutor both swimming courses and pool snorkel courses. She is also qualified as a swimming instructor, aqua fit instructor and lifeguard and holds a pool plant operators qualification. Victoria holds the level 3 club coach swimming qualification and was the head coach of a local swimming club. Away from the poolside, Victoria is a qualified fitness gym instructor.
Josh Keith - Team Leader
Josh Is new to the UCP Marjon Sport team, joining us from the China Fleet Country Club as a new sports centre Team Leader. Josh is responsible for the day to day running of the new sports centre, ensuring that the facilities and product that UCP Marjon Sport offer is of the highest standard. Josh is a born and bread local guy, that has been in the leisure industry for 4 years, and considers himself to be a very active person, and enjoys both playing and watching sport.
